I have to say even the original model is pretty darn pet friendly. My pal (and her adoro English Bulldog) love their Element for the extra door and easily foldable or removable backseat.

We have had an element for 3 years and purchased it specifically for our great pyrenese,Colorado...this is great but I noticed that the back door windows are still pop out windows instead of windows that roll down....Colorado loves to feel the wind in his face and we would let him do this at on back roads at low speeds, and with the pop-out windows he can't really put his face out the window.
