When glancing through a friend's recent vacay pictures, I spotted a couple of her and her boyfriend riding horses on a beach. (This is not her.) Anyway, we were chatting and she shared it was her first time horseback and that she was a bit scared at first . . . but loved it in the end.
Some of my fondest childhood memories include horses, and my informal Sugar HQ survey found that there were plenty of people who shared my interest and others who've never seen a pony up close – how about you?

My mom did with my Aunt and they loved it! She wants to go all the time now.
1i've gone a couple times, they weren't very fun. it was like those poor old horses that walk the same trail every single day. I'd like to go real horseback riding where you're allowed to let the horse go more that 1 mph.
2I've gone several times, but all of them have been guided trails. Once, though, was in Hawaii, so that made it about 10x more fun.
3I used to take lessons when I was a kid, but I'm pretty rusty now. I've done a couple guided trail rides since, and they were ok, but it's much better when your horse isn't tired and bored. Once, I did a really fun ride on the beach and back into a canyon in Mexico, and the horses were much more spirited and it was so fun riding on the beach. The only bad thing was that it was a sunset ride, which was the last ride of the day, so the horses get fed afterward. My horse decided she was ready to eat, and started galloping down the beach back to the stable!!!
4Where is "No, but I'd love to do it one day"???
5I did once because I just wanted to try it, but I didn't really enjoy it. Horses kind of scare me
6As a child I lived for a few years next to a boarding facility so I would ride almost daily. When I moved my parents had me taken lessons since it was all I talked about. Now I don't ride nearly as much...its hard to get out b/c I feel bad for the "commerical" riding horses, and I only know a few friends that have multiple horses to ride with together.
7I never have but it's not that I don't want to. I'll learn how to ride a horse someday. I just have to find someone who owns horses!
8I've done it probably ten times in my life... I've always loved it, but I was never able to just ride the horse on my own... it was always guided trails, staring at the horse's butt in front of me. That's fun, but that's not real riding. I want to be able to just go where I please, and to go faster than a pokey walk.
9As often as I can cause I toally love it
10I haven't done it in a long time. But if anyone tells you that running a horse isn't exercise, they need a hoof to the head!

12I had my own pony from age 13-16, so I rode pretty much every day for three years, plus a couple of times a week from I was 8. Abruptly ended when i "grew up" at 16, and sold the pony to focus on school projects and boys. Sometimes I really miss it, and I'm thinking of taking lessons again soon.. It's just that it's so expensive! Last time I checked it was 175NOK (appx. $16) for 45 minutes at my local dressage club.. What are the fees like where you live?
13I used to take lessons when I was younger! I absolutely LOVED it! And now I absolutely miss it!
14I'm on the equestrian team at my college, so I ride constantly
I never grew out of
that "little girl dreams of having her own pony" thing hah
15I never grew out of the little girl dream either. I have 3 horses now and don't know what I would do w/o them. Living in Montana the cost isn't as high as other states but still isn't cheap. I conserve as much as possible! I love the saying: The outside of a horse is therapy for the inside of the soul.
16Ride baby ride!!!
I used to take lessons when I was younger and also known people that have horses and rode with them. I have done it in a while and miss it.
17I rode a lot growing up, my parents didn't so I don't know how I got into it, showed a bit and worked as a wrangler in Yellowstone National Park for a good while.
18I'll bet that was neat riding in YNP. I wrangled for a while down in Az and some just outside of Big Sky. Too slow going for me though. I like to get out and cover the country! How a bout you?
19i went to horse camp for a week long time ago. Its hard, trying to ride "with" the horse.
20I've owned horses all my life. Having them around has been some of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Not to mention theraputic. Love me some ponies.
21I went when we were in Vanuatu - my first ride was a trail ride up through the forest. It was amazing, and I'd love to do it again.
