Do Tell: Will Your Pets Destroy Your Things?

"Oooh, Scooter, Daddy's gonna be mad!" Um, yeah, I'd say. This owner came home to quite the pleasant ~~surprise~~ disaster — not to necessarily cite this as pro-crate-training evidence, but I know I'd look into it after one day of cleaning up this mess. Sound familiar?

i think what is great about this is how amazingly non-chalant the boston is about EVERYTHING. he's no longer tearing stuff up like crazy. he's sitting there peacefully like "i didn't do this, how could i? i am so... chill." my dog chews things, but she isn't destructive. and only cords. she retrieves most things. picks them up, drops them, goes and gets something else.

The only things my cats destroy is our carpet. So annoying!

Your terrier isn't a terrier unless it tears apart squeaky toys, paper, toilet paper, bills, etc. That being said, Zena is a true terrier. I've had to play 'surgeon' to her animals and toys until they've become unusable many a time. She tears apart paper and squeaker toys. I come home to piles of fluff everywhere all the time.

Everyone told me having a golden would mean chewed up furniture and shoes, but my little guy has been a dream. When he was a puppy, if he went to chew on something (the tassels on an oriental rug were tempting), I'd cheerfully announce that it was time to get a toy and take him to his toy bin. It wasn't long before he trotted over to his bin to pick something out when he wanted to chew. Now two years old, he has never destroyed anything of mine. Pretty amazing!
