And, if so, do you put on protection first?

yes, she is allowed on the couch. and no, we don't use protection (hehe). I love having her on the couch with me more than I love my couch!
1Agreed, kismekate! I love cuddle time with my kitty more than not liking having to get her fur off the couch later.
2Of course they can get on the couch! The only furniture no-nos are the table during dinner, and the kitchen counters.
One of these days, when my daughter is older, I *might* buy nice furniture that needs protecting. Or maybe I'll just keep getting cheap furniture and letting it get scratched up.
3Just try to keep my dogs off the couch!!
I love having them cuddle with me so I
would never keep them off the couches.
4Our 80 lb. boxer has to stay off, but there's no keeping our 14 lb. siamese cat off our furniture. He does what he pleases.
5Oliver OWNS the couch. The only places that he is not allowed are the kitchen counters and the table.
6Phoebe not only spends hew whole day on the couch with the snuggie but also sleeps in bed under the covers. She's a doxie so they love the big bed. She is not allowed on the table although i have caught glimpses of her jumping on there when we're not in the kitchen!
7yeah i try to keep them off the couch, doesnt always work but its a rule! everywhere else is a-ok!
8My animals have always been allowed on my furniture, I wouldn't have it any other way. We all cuddle together and sleep under the covers. It's better than having a relationship. It's easier and unconditional.
9Yes. We have dog doors and sometimes they even sneak on the furniture with muddy paws. It's easy to clean up, though, and I love snuggling with them.
10Sometimes I am allowed on the couch.
11Yes, Zena is allowed on the couch. No, we don't use rubber or any other sort of protection.
12My dog was definitely couch trained when I found her, and she's so small and cute, I never bothered to break her of the habit.
She's possessive of the couch though! I get up for one minute, she steals my spot. We duke it out for couch space on a daily basis!
13My dog's allowed on the couch, but we do have a blanket on it. It's a white couch from pre-pet days, and we have a brown haired dog, but she's allowed even if the blankets aren't on it.
14yes i always let him on the couch!! hes a great cuddle buddy!! and there he has his own pillow to lay on
15Yes...my dog is small though, so if I'm not already sitting on the couch she can't get up there herself. I put down a blanket, but that's more because she likes to be on/in one than for the furniture - I wanted a dog that would be a companion and my dog is exactly that - she sits next to me on the couch, sleeps on the bed, likes to lay in the sun on the deck... very fun dog
16Yes they are allowed on the couch, and beds if they want and no we don't require protection.
17Yup! We have all leather couches so they are super easy to clean. Our dogs are the reason we can't get anything but leather, it's just too hard to clean and we don't like covering them up. The dogs and cats sleep in the beds too.
18Yes, all four of my dogs are allowed on our couch and in my bed. They each have their own spot next to me. I wouldn't have it any other way.
19Yes...he is allowed...
20Nope. Basically, everything above three feet is off limits - my poor dog is a ground/floor only dog =( . . . Seriously though, we rescued him and he came with this habit of just randomly trying to swipe at your face with his paw if he thinks you need to pay him attention. If anything, the couches and beds are a safe haven from this little quirk. If you want to be on his level you have to be on your toes and ready to dodge a flying paw.
21He's sitting right next to me, so I'm going to have to say yes!
22Panda is allowed on the couch and on the bed. He has to get in his own bed when it's lights out though. He sleeps too restlessly to stay on my bed all night.
23Yes they are and no, I dont put anything down first, they are clean and I wouldn't have it any other way!
24Naturally, she's allowed on the couch with me, with no protection. Except for when she comes in with dirty paws then she gets a mini-bath before she gets to climb up to cuddle.
25My dog, NO! My many cats, yes!
26I am the boss of my dog and she knows the rules and I am the dominant one and she knows all sorts of tricks. My cats, they know come, sit, lie down and when its food time, other than that, they do their own thing and I can't make em not sit on the couch, so I put a cover on my furniture.
And then I see a big wet lickin spot in the middle of the couch and figure that not only does my dog not respect me as I had intentionally wished, but even in fact she sleeps on the couch when we are gone.
Now my dog is old and when we catch her on the couch she looks at us as if to say "do I really have to move my old bones mum?" with her Labradore puppy eyes and I say "f*ck ya b*tch MOVE"
N we go for a rollerblade to the off-leash
Damn I love animals
yep, he's always on the couch all day and all night, if he wishes. and then he's on the bed at night time. however, i do use covers for his section of the couch and bed.
27Yes, the dogs just kind of make themselves at home, though they are a good size and when both of them are on the couch there's no room for us!
28That's such a CUTE pic!
Yes, they are allowed, but I have soft fleece blankets laid
down. The dogs are bathed & blankets washed each week.
29No, but he thinks he is!
30My cat is allowed on the couch, but she is declawed (and rarely gets up there anyway). I am getting a kitten in another week or two, and he will not be allowed on the couch because he still has his claws. The couch belongs to my mom, so she won't allow it. I will allow him on my furniture though.
