My cat is allowed on the couch, but she is declawed (and rarely gets up there anyway). I am getting a kitten in another week or two, and he will not be allowed on the couch because he still has his claws. The couch belongs to my mom, so she won't allow it. I will allow him on my furniture though.
Yes, the dogs just kind of make themselves at home, though they are a good size and when both of them are on the couch there's no room for us!
yep, he's always on the couch all day and all night, if he wishes. and then he's on the bed at night time. however, i do use covers for his section of the couch and bed.
My dog, NO! My many cats, yes!
I am the boss of my dog and she knows the rules and I am the dominant one and she knows all sorts of tricks. My cats, they know come, sit, lie down and when its food time, other than that, they do their own thing and I can't make em not sit on the couch, so I put a cover on my furniture.
And then I see a big wet lickin spot in the middle of the couch and figure that not only does my dog not respect me as I had intentionally wished, but even in fact she sleeps on the couch when we are gone.
Now my dog is old and when we catch her on the couch she looks at us as if to say "do I really have to move my old bones mum?" with her Labradore puppy eyes and I say "fuck ya bitch MOVE"
N we go for a rollerblade to the off-leash
Damn I love animals :)
Naturally, she's allowed on the couch with me, with no protection. Except for when she comes in with dirty paws then she gets a mini-bath before she gets to climb up to cuddle.
Yes they are and no, I dont put anything down first, they are clean and I wouldn't have it any other way!
Panda is allowed on the couch and on the bed. He has to get in his own bed when it's lights out though. He sleeps too restlessly to stay on my bed all night.
He's sitting right next to me, so I'm going to have to say yes! :)
Nope. Basically, everything above three feet is off limits - my poor dog is a ground/floor only dog =( . . . Seriously though, we rescued him and he came with this habit of just randomly trying to swipe at your face with his paw if he thinks you need to pay him attention. If anything, the couches and beds are a safe haven from this little quirk. If you want to be on his level you have to be on your toes and ready to dodge a flying paw.
Yup! We have all leather couches so they are super easy to clean. Our dogs are the reason we can't get anything but leather, it's just too hard to clean and we don't like covering them up. The dogs and cats sleep in the beds too.
Yes...my dog is small though, so if I'm not already sitting on the couch she can't get up there herself. I put down a blanket, but that's more because she likes to be on/in one than for the furniture - I wanted a dog that would be a companion and my dog is exactly that - she sits next to me on the couch, sleeps on the bed, likes to lay in the sun on the deck... very fun dog :-)
My dog's allowed on the couch, but we do have a blanket on it. It's a white couch from pre-pet days, and we have a brown haired dog, but she's allowed even if the blankets aren't on it.
My dog was definitely couch trained when I found her, and she's so small and cute, I never bothered to break her of the habit.
She's possessive of the couch though! I get up for one minute, she steals my spot. We duke it out for couch space on a daily basis!
Yes. We have dog doors and sometimes they even sneak on the furniture with muddy paws. It's easy to clean up, though, and I love snuggling with them.
My animals have always been allowed on my furniture, I wouldn't have it any other way. We all cuddle together and sleep under the covers. It's better than having a relationship. It's easier and unconditional.
Phoebe not only spends hew whole day on the couch with the snuggie but also sleeps in bed under the covers. She's a doxie so they love the big bed. She is not allowed on the table although i have caught glimpses of her jumping on there when we're not in the kitchen!
