When I'm feeling down, North definitely motivates me . . . I can't neglect his walks just because I don't feel like getting out of my jammies! Everyone has different strategies for dealing with sadness, what role do furry friends play in yours?

Last year was a terrible one for me... I lost a baby, broke up with my man... I was in a big depression. Polka really helped me during this time. Every time I was crying, she came and jumped on my knees to cuddle! ;) When I was lying on my couh, feelong real bad, she came with all her toys and so, made me smile! ;) She really helped me and sometimes, when I think about this time, I say that she probably saved me :love:

If I am just having a bad day, Vivi cheers me up by licking my face and being a sweetie pie If I am crying, Bubba will lay beside and stare at me like Whats the matter? And I can't help but smile at his cute little face!

i was going through a very bad point in my life when i got my second dog mambo (the black pom on my profile) my other dog i had left at home and i was away in school. i had become very very depresed and would not leave my house and had lost over 20 lbs (i was only 100 lbs to start with) when i decided to buy my dog and i must say that he saved my life when i got him i became much better i started being more social and enjoying life he did not fix my depression but he was what gave me the pick up i needed to improve my life and is still there for me every day

How can pets not cheer you up? My big dog Jack, loves a big cuddle, and snuggles in with lovely big sighs-it's just like cuddling a big friendly teddy bear. As for little dog Poppy, even when she's stealing slippers and bouncing around, you just have to laugh!

I have two little mini doxies, and they are the BEST "cheerer uppers" I have ever known. When you leave their sight for five minutes, they act like they haven't seen you in a year. They get SO excited, jumping and yipping and wanting to be loved on. I love my little dogs and I wouldn't trade them for the world. Heck, I even prefer them over my kids some days! LOL

Their constant need for cuddles always cheers me up. They also do really silly things and make silly poses. Both my cats also always seem to know when I'm not feeling well or am unhappy, and they get extra cuddlesome.

Eegor plays a big role! No matter how I'm feeling, he can always cheer me up. He has a tendency to crawl into a little ball as close to my/my husbands face (or in our armpits) and fall asleep, it's the most precious thing. Or he'll just bathe me with kisses. Honestly, it's hard not to smile when I just look at him, as he's always doing something crazy/cute.

my mother-in-law has a non-profit about pets helping breast cancer survivors cope. I can attest to the fact that pets can tell when we need some lovings and give it to us whether we want it or not. Carson is known to try to crawl on to the couch to be an 87lb lap dog or crawl under the covers to cheer us up. He'll also bring one of his many chew toys over and squeak it at us until we play with him which usually is a great way to break me/us out of our mood.

Both my animals cheer me up everyday! Some nights my boyfriend doesn't get off work till LATE so I go to bed alone, but I don't feel to lonely when I have m puppy cuddles up between my legs and my kitty on my chest purring away :) And walks too, Rosie definatly has made me be less lazy! I love our early morning walk/pee (haha). it gives me a chance to wake up and refresh in the morning before my day starts :)

oh its amazing how they know when you are sad or not feeling well. max always knows! he tries to make me feel better by staying next to me or licking my face..he truly is my best friend.

My cat Spice cheers me up the most because she's the cuddly one. Sometimes she just looks at me and starts purring and that makes me happiest of all!

I was just having this discussion with a friend, about how much our dogs do for us. I swear, I can be having the most horrible day, and then I come home to them and they just make me feeling a million times better. Their unconditional love is just amazing to me. Plus, I get motivated to take them on walks and to go to the dog part, so I get some exercise in there, even on days I don't wanna go to the gym!
