Canine Whirlpool: Spoiled Sweet or Spoiled Rotten?

While I'm definitely sorry for any pooches with health issues requiring hydrotherapy, the at-home price of $5,000 for this VetSystems Whirlpool makes me grateful North is in tip-top shape (even after all that beer). I mean I don't even have a human whirlpool in my pad!

This common solution for joint injuries and general relaxation is coming to canine consumers with a model in custom colors built for standard use in houses, not at special facilities. Would you buy in?

If it's for rehabilitation due a dog being injured - I'm all for it. But never as an expensive way for a dog owner to rise up the ladder of snobbery. There are better ways of spending 5 Grand - Animal shelters could use the cash, I'm sure. - Take doggie for a dip in the ocean, lake or a wading-type pool made of durable plastic (I've seen them in hardware stores for kids) & let the dogs play. A friend of mine made her own for about $200.00 from a portable pool, some homemade contraption that stirred the water & a ceiling harness from stuff found around the neighborhood that others threw out during "Spring Cleaning".

My dog Diva has had both of her knees replaced, with something like 16 screws and two plates in each. My standard line is that she has a small car in her back legs, if somewhere in the future she were to be in need of this- I would do EVERYTHING within my power to get it for her. Keep in mind hydrotherapy is $50/session for 5-10 minutes... Imagine how much time in the tank they could have at home!!

When I get an animal that means that the animal will be with me for their lifespan. If one of my animals needed this to help them through their day with a little more comfort then I would definetly get one.

I agree with you Shayna! I also was thinking about a lot of service dogs thats are worth their weight in gold, also K-9 dogs and such that rehabilitation if possible would be worth spending that on but are they more deserving than my pooch. No, Not really. I cannot afford it but if he needed it and I could I most definitely would.

Not in my budget, but if my dog needed it, I know I would wish that it was... Is she spoiled? Yes, but she also has given me a lot in return, so it's all good :-)
