Logan will "shake" (give his right paw), "paw" (give his left paw), "high five" (slap your hand with his right paw), and "sit pretty" (sit up on his hind legs with both paws extended in the air). Aside from being cute, teaching him the difference between "shake" and "paw" comes in handy when it's time for a nail trim or if I need to see one of his feet for something (burrs, etc)!
Shaking is Sonny's favorite thing to do!!! It's his way of saying "Mommy, I'm a good boy, see?!". He does it without asking. The best is when he throws his paw up at me, almost impatiently, but it's so cute!!!
Oliver Katt will stand up on both back legs with both front paws stretched above his head to alert me that he is hungry for his canned food feedings when we are in the kitchen. A "high ten", I suppose! (He has trained me well!)
She can shake (I tell her which paw I want!). She high fives too. I make her sit and high five before I throw a stick. She does just like Shenanigans...butt on the ground, paw up!
I always make Shenanigans sit and give me a high five before she gets her treats. At this point, as soon as her butt hits the ground, her hand is in the air, even if I don't ask for it!
