Adopting a Pet Before Having a Baby

A LilSugar reader recently asked for first pet suggestions for her four and a half year old, which got me thinking about how many couples I know who tried their hand at parenting with a pup or kitten before getting pregnant. While most of you don't think it's fair to compare pet parenting to baby parenting, I think it's fair to say one can help prepare you for the other.
