Which Dog Name Is Wackiest?
PetSugar: When did you get your dog and what's his breed?
Beaner: We got Reuben in September 2008 as a wedding present to ourselves. He's a Goldendoodle, and we thought he was going to be much bigger (he's just under 35 pounds). I have bad allergies and asthma, and I've had no reaction to him whatsoever.
PetSugar: What's your daily doggie routine?
Beaner: We get up and he chases squirrels in our fenced-in backyard before he has breakfast. Mid-morning, we go for 30-minute run in the woods or an hour-long long walk around the neighborhood. After that, we pick up his best friend Colby, an 80-pound black Goldendoodle, and they run around our backyard.
PetSugar: What's your dog’s favorite food, pastime, and treat?
Beaner: Reuben loves ice cream. Every so often, I go get a creemee down the street, and I save him the very end of the cone. I've never seen his tongue move so fast! If we let him, he'd dig all day long in between chasing squirrels. He also loves to play with other dogs. His favorite dog treat are those dried sweet potatoes.

A LilSugar reader recently asked for first pet suggestions for her four and a half year old, which got me thinking about how many couples I know who tried their hand at parenting with a pup or kitten before getting pregnant. While most of you don't think it's fair to compare pet parenting to baby parenting, I think it's fair to say one can help prepare you for the other. Did you train at doggy school before you went to childbirth classes?
Florida grapefruit juice is great on its own as a delicious, refreshing, and nutrient-dense beverage. But did you know it also is the perfect complement to your savory Summer dishes? Give this sassy spin to your typical barbecue sauce at your next cookout!
¾ cup ketchup
½ cup light molasses
½ cup (4 ounces) Florida grapefruit juice
3 tablespoons light brown sugar
1 teaspoon Dijon-style mustard
2 pounds country-style pork spare ribs
Combine the first five ingredients in a pint jar with a cover. Shake well. Pour sauce over meat before placing on the grill.

In what may be my favorite scene of The Back-up Plan, Zoe's absolutely adorable disabled doggie snatches her pregnancy stick and holds on to it with his teeth while her fella waits outside the restroom. Though the situation is particularly comical (and dramatized), pet lovers are never strangers to embarrassing moments. So, I want to know: What's the most humiliating thing your pet has every done?
