Some dogs simply won't tolerate a hat or veil atop their heads, and a full costume seems way too stuffy, especially for Summer. If you want to let a pet celebrate your big day with a little collar addition, there are these charms to do the trick.
Now I'm wondering if the disparity between the price of the Dog Groom ($65) and Dog Bride ($95) has something to do with the fact that a bride would probably be more willing than a groom to shell out the cash for this Swarovski crystal and seed bead pendant. Either way, would you buy in?
PetSugar: When did you get your dog and what's her breed?
FabSugar: February of '06, AB was seven months, French Bulldog.
PetSugar: What's your daily doggie routine?
FabSugar: AM walk with mom, AM nap, afternoon walk with her doggie posse, afternoon nap, evening activities; either chill out with me, come with me to exercise class, sit in the car while I go out to dinner with friends — I try to take her with me as much as possible since she’s home alone all day. PM walk with mom, snore-fest begins . . . The weekends are all about AB and meeting up with her doggie friends, going to the park or beach, playing at her grandparents' house with best friend pug, Stryder, strolling through SF neighborhoods . . .

Well, added to Kelly's burgeoning brood is lil Woody, who she tweets is the newest member of her family with Luke. The puppy is all eyes in a bundle of fur, but wouldn't you say he looks like a star already? Knowing the chic items we've found on her pets in the past — like that Juicy collar charm and Sporky — I'd say it won't be too long before this handsome fella gets an equally handsome harness or, fingers crossed, maybe a hat!

If it's hard to lure a pooch into a pool or lake, and he still views a hose down as something too close to a bath, here's a great solution to keep your cool, while trying to keep him cool as well. The Dog Cooling Vest ($50 and up) not only offers a shield to save him from the sun, but it can also be soaked in water so he's wet without a sudden shock of a spray or splash.
Even though the idea itself is pretty cool, I especially love that one of the sizes is mini Dachshund! It's often hard to entirely cover these odd-shaped pooches, and they deserve protection, too!
One of my favorite events every June is the World's Ugliest Dog Contest at the Sonoma-Marin Fair. I've attended in 2008 and 2009 and had the chance to meet several of the peculiar pups and their owners, including Dawn Goehring and Miss Ellie. Sadly, this Chinese Crested pooch passed away at age 17 (!) this week before making a trip this month to CA to compete one last time.Miss Ellie captured the Ugliest Purebred title in the 2009 semi-finals but lost to Pabst in the end and hopefully is frolicking away with the 2008 winner, Gus, in doggie heaven. RIP, sweet pup, you'll always be cute to me!
