You must have a heart of stone not to smile at the prospect of Puppy Bowl airing this Sunday on Animal Planet. My personal goal is seeing if I can commandeer a TV at my friend Michael's Super Bowl party to watch the fourth-annual event. After all, for the first time, the adorable doggies will be broadcast in high-definition to capture their thrilling "ruff" housing in stunning clarity. I'm thinking of baking up Yum's original recipe for Gooey Banana Cupcakes with Chocolate Buttercream so hopefully the goodness will lure the boys away from the flat screen . . . so us girls can go gaga over the pooches! The channel's really releasing the hounds this year – the three-hour show airs essentially on repeat from 3PM to 3AM (EST) – at the very least, I'll try to convince them not to watch Tom Petty and opt for the coinciding Kitty Half-Time Show instead. Benefiting animal rescue, if you see a face you like up there, learn more about the participating, adoptable canines and felines all coming from Maryland-area shelters!
