I admit it, I love Ikea! Their inexpensive items are stylish, functional, and apparently can be re-purposed for many different uses. Take, for example, this cat tree found on Ikea Hacker. Its parts come from the Stolmen line of closet organizers and make a sturdy and attractive perch for kitty. These pieces – which can be bought separately – could easily be stained or painted to match any interior and, thankfully, won't take up too much space. Just add carpet and you are ready to go! Have you re-purposed furniture to treat your pet to a new dwelling? If so, tell us below!

1I love this idea!
2Very clever!
3Great idea!
4That is funny! My nephew Jeff saw something like this in ReadyMade Magazine and begged me to hook him and his cat Athena up with 6 wall mounted bookshelves and some carpet pieces and my industrial stapler.
Athena now has a gauntlet of wall mounts cat climbers from his loft bed to the floor and ceiling. It's pretty elaborate on one wall.
ReadyMade loves to re-purpose IKEA stuff, so does Jeff especially if it benefit his girl Athena.
5Super idea! But not for my cat...he's so clumsy that he would likely fall of the top shelf and break his butt in two!
6My kitties would love this. I didn't make it, but I've seen it, a person took an old computer monitor and made it into a cat bed. I thought that was cute.
7i want one!!!!!
8CanadianInVA,
Great idea for old monitors! Would love to try it, but my Oliver Man's "ample" buttcheeks would most likely overflow onto the carpet! I think I would need two monitors.....one for each cheek!
