I love my pet but I can't say I have North eating off of my dishes! This photo is from a restaurant in a pet club – the only one in Hangzhou, China where customers and pets can dine together at the table. Now Yum polled us on sharing utensils with family members so I'm gonna take it one step further and ask if you'd let a pet lap food off your nice plates.

I don't know if this means off my dinnerware or off my actual plate, but...I don't feed my cats people food because it's unhealthy for them, and I wouldn't have any qualms about feeding them off my fancy dinnerware (and have when I forgot to wash their bowls) because I clean them.
1My pets can eat using my plates, but not off the same plate that I am eating from. They all get washed.
2Never.
3That is really disgusting.
They can clean my plates, but that's only after I'm done eating. Then, it gets put in the dishwasher to be washed.
4Nope.
5Eh...yeah my cats on the rare occasions that they get wet cat food they get it on "my plates". Then I wash the plate and put it back in with the rest. No biggie. They don't like human food except some plain fish but they don't want that from me or off a plate- they want it thrown so they can chase it down.
Now when I'm eating yogurt or cottage cheese my cats will force their way right up into my face and patiently wait for some - so I offer them some off my spoon and I'll still eat off the same spoon. I don't particularly care so long as the haven't been licking their butts recently - we're good. There are only certain viruses/bacteria can that can spread from humans and felines so I don't worry about giving them anything. And my cats are "close circuit" creatures never coming into contact with other cats or animals and their vaccinated so no worries- it's not an everyday thing.
Heck, I use to eat dog food (nasty Alpo) with our dogs when I was a kid. My parents removed that as one of my chores cause the dogs and I were "bonding" too much. I feed them each a fork full then I'd eat some, the dogs would like my face and groom me. My parents were like - "No - no feral little girls in our house!"
6I totally believe in animal rights...but sharing food with your pet...literally? no thanks.
7Um. No thanks.
Thats absolutely disgusting.
8My parents will use people bowls as dog food bowls and then wash them (we know which ones they use...so they don't get used by us too often)...but I just couldn't see sharing food/food space like that.
9I said other. Although I don't let them eat off my plates, I am in the routine of allowing my kitties to have their wet food on my blue willow tea cup saucers. They really don't get used for any other purpose other than holding used tea bags- so why not?
10As long as there's no slobber left - I share!
11That just seems like it would lead to bad habits.
12I have personally watched my cat lick its hiney hole. No way is that mouth getting anywhere near my plate.
13Oliver Katt and I have a ritual of sharing a bit of yogurt every day. And yes, we share the same spoon! It's a joyful ritual for him. He hears that lid come off of the container and he erupts into a frenzy of pure euphoria. I just can't take that away from him! Besides, he never bothers me for any of my other "people food." What's a bit of cat snot/slobber between buddies?
