My boyfriend and I talk about having a farm when we are older all the time! This is something I've always dreamed about! I would love to have two horses, a couple chickens (for the fresh eggs) and maybe some ducks too! Plus the 1 dog and 2 cats we have already, plus the 1 more cat we want to get and 2 more dogs we want to get!!! Ahh we're crazy but we just love animals~!

I used to have a pet chicken - but it died. My dog's name is sheep.

I had two duckies that I raised! But I had to let them go when they were old enough.

I would love to have a few chickens. Besides the eggs, they are voracious deer tick eaters (a problem in my neck of the woods) and their droppings are good in the compost heap.

I grew up on a farm, raised our own livestock for food. Cows, chickens, quails, rabbits, pigs. but i have no dream to recreate that in my future, i couldnt stand the noise and smells. but liked the meat.

I live in Los Angeles so no farm animals here... but my boyfriend's family are sheep farmers in Wales so we get to see them sometimes.

As a kid, we had a goat, horse, chickens, and had a runaway cow for a few days until somebody claimed it. None at the same time, though. The goat was actually a pet, and the chickens were already there when we moved.

My mom recently got a horse so I have been hanging around a lot of horses lately and basically adopted them all. They are so cute and lovely (and b*tchy) but I never realized how much WORK went into them. From brushing, picking their hooves, shoeing,shoveling tons of poop, exercising, cleaning out some very unpleasant areas (specially if its a male)etc. Its so much work and training but its total worth it when they unexpectedly nuzzle you or playfully mouth your sweater so that you will pay attention to them.

Plus baby horses are the CUTEST things ever

I hate cleaning out my kitties litter box. I don't think I would do well with cleaning up after farm animals. And I grew up on a farm(no animals)and our neighbours farms always smelled.

I think ducks are harmless if your child wants something a little different.

my classmate raised chicks, but then his family ate them...that's so traumatizing! i'd want a horse more than chickens, though.

I've got a horse and live on a farm with horses, goats, chickens etc.

i once had a rabbit, once had a goat. but i've always wanted to live off of my own land someday and really have a barn full.

i have two horses...90% work, 10% fun but so worth it. I mean, feeding them at 6 a.m. and cleaning stalls isn't my favorite thing in the world, but i love my horses so much-I'm still young, but I see myself having horses for the rest of my life. i just dont think i will ever get over them.
