I wash my pups outside with a hose, and my kitty comes in the shower with me!

Bop takes his baths in the tub. He stands in one corner and looks miserable. Poor guy!

what is the deal?

costco sells booster baths - self standing bath tubs that are light weight and can hold any size dog (well, almost any size). the tub is at waist height so there's no bending over and even a tie down so your dog can't jump out. it has a drainage hose that sends the water in the direction you want ... like down the driveway. they also sell an attachment (the tropic hose something) that connects to your washer/dryer hot/cold hoses (easily attachable) so you can bathe your dog with warm water. this makes washing your dog so much easier and clean-up is a snap. i love mine!

Fuji takes a bath in the tub. He'll stand there in one corner of the tub away from the running water.

i wash both of the doggies in the bathtub. The little one puts her tail between her legs her head down and she goes into the tub. The bigger one jumps there alone but she doesn't like the water. My little one likes the blow drying afterwards lol

Okay, I have to brag on my lil girl here.

Baylee (a beagle) gets her baths in the guest bathroom tub. She is so good! When it's time for her to get a bath, she'll run right to the tub and jump in. Then she'll stand perfectly still while I rub her down with the flea shampoo, regular shampoo and conditioner. She only gets a little rambunctious when I'm drying her off. Then she gets a doggie ice cream for being so good.

Chloe does not like baths so I suit up in an oversized long sleeved T(to protect me from scatches) and hold her in the shower. I let her out to shake off while I finish my own shower, then we play with a big oversized towel to dry off. On cold days she gets a blow dry, on warm dry days, a long slow walk.

Since Kassie is so big and hairy she is outside with a hose. However if its cold out and just really needs a bath I'll take her to the groomers. Otherwise its outside. She LOVES the water so bathing her is no problem

Jeffrey has no body fat so the hose water is too cold for him. We usually give him a bath in the tub so he can have warm water but he gets little black hair EVERYWHERE and it clogs up the drain. If its warm enough outside we will just fill a bucket with warm water and bathe him outside. He has also gone to the groomers a couple of times....he doesn't like it as much as Kassie does

Oliver, my Persian guy, gets a nightly comb through and eyeball washing. Every two or three months I take him to his groomer for a full-on hose-down, fluff dry, ear cleaning, nail trim and tokus-shave. A gal has gotta be active in trying to prevent the dingle berries!

My basset hound seems to stay fresher for longer when he gets a professional bath. But every other bath is at home in the shower. The groomer is pricey!

I will admit we don't wash our pets. The cat won't take it, so she simply gets brushed a lot. The dog is kept clean with a squirt bottle of water to wash off mud and rain keeps her clean too. Since they are both house pets they do not get very dirty and a good brushing is all that is needed mostly.

I give Juniper her baths in the laundry tub. She doesn't like it very much but it works the best because she can't jump out.

We took our girl to the groomer every two weeks, since before she was even 8 weeks old. She loved it. She would always run & jump up in the tub when she got there. It also helped that her groomer was a wonderful person who loved animals, knew how to handle them, & especially loved my dog. Then again, our girl always had such a sweet demeanor about her, it was pretty easy!

It was a bit expensive, but totally worth it. It was back-breaking the few times I had to bath her at home. The groomer also took care of all of the extras, like nail clipping (which I was horrible at), ear cleaning, & those gland things.

Although, if/when we do get another dog, it will probably be 40 lbs max & we will get one of those waist high tubs. We will still take the dog to the groomer, though, maybe just once a month.
