Great great list, Pet
I'd also like to add that adult dogs, while maybe not AS cute as their puppy counterparts, make for wonderful wonderful adopted pets:
you already know their full size
1many of them are housebroken
many know tricks and commands
less likely to chew up your favorite shoes
I completely agree runningesq. I recently adopted an adult dog and it's been a great experience. Unfortunately, they are often overlooked at the animal shelters by potential owners.
Great list PetSugar!
2Shelter pets make great pets! All of my furry family members are shelter alums. Thanks for spreading the word! Also check out www.theshelterpetproject.org. New campaign on TV, etc. to promote shelter adoptions.
3omg! that's my dog on the cover! haha i adopted him a couple months ago! how funny
4I do agree with marathornmom. Most adult dogs are over looked. My opininon: I think most people feel that it is better to adopt them when they are young because it is easy to rear them.
5My daughter adopted an older dog who already had some gray on her muzzle. She was a shelter dog who was being shown at Petsmart and it was mutual love at first sight. My daughter had Bella for five years before she died at an age the vet couldn't even guess, and she was the love of my daughter's life and got along excellently with her four cats. I miss my sweet granddog.
