Wow! All the above items are PetSugar readers' great suggestions for my D.I.Y. challenge! From wrapping yarn around a satchel of catnip to adding jingle bells to existing toys, you certainly know how to please your kitties.
If your cats love found objects, try other recommendations such as tying 10 hair ties (with no metal) to a piece of yarn or cutting used gift bows into poofs as impromptu creations. As with any toy, monitor your pets when they play, paying close attention for small, broken, or loose parts. Happy crafting!

My cat dies for hair ties!
1It's kind of creepy...
Hahahahaha so do mine, and q tips for some reason...
2I think the funniest thing my cat has gone for is a pair of fuzzy earmuffs that I have! It's so funny to see him walking around carrying them in his mouth.
3I love that all those ideas are so simple, but totally entertaining to cats.
4My cats love little balls made out of aluminum foil.
5I have an old scrunchy my cat loves to play with. I think that and the catnip pillow are his favorite.
6My cat is obsessed with q-tips too. She also loves anything paper: business cards, receipts, etc. Anything she can pick up and move. I've even caught her playing with a pen.
7My cats LOVE balled up receipts. They like all paper, but the receipt paper is their favorite by far- there's probably 15 or 20 "lost" receipt balls under my sofa!! And one of my cats is addicted to Q-Tips as well.
8My cat LOVES tinsel, every year we have to strap it down to the tree with wire other wise she knocks everything off!
9my kitty loves found items too especially milk bottle rings, paper balls and nail files! she could care less about the toys i buy from the store compared to the things she find around the house!
10Our Buddy is a very energetic Siamese kitty. When he was a kitten we got him hooked on Fetch with a aluminum foil ball. He'll bring them to bed sometimes. Our little Indiana goes nuts for tampons that fall out of my purse. She'll kick them all over the house! Slightly embarrassing when company comes over.
