Instead of frequently cleaning out your pet's dishes, Bamboo's Feed and Toss bowl system includes disposable liners for food and water. Each bowl comes with two clear plastic liners and a recommendation to use one liner per week for water or dry food and two liners per week for wet food. The product eliminates the risk of mixing household sponges, unsafe cleansers, or spreading germs to family members when cleaning pet's dishes. Now, when traveling I can see the benefit of a product like this, however, I think I do a pretty good job of cleaning North's dishes on my own at home. What's your take on this product?

So cool!!
Love the colors. If I had a dog, this would be on my "must have" list
completely wasteful. The bowls are sute, but washing a bowl is not that big of a deal. Especially if you have a dishwasher!
It's sort of like paper plates for pets, I guess. When I first saw these when they came out, I thought they were meant to be replaced (with wet food) every time you fed. That's 3-5x a day for me, so I thought the price was ridiculous. Even now that I see it's a couple of times a week - which I think is unsafe and unsanitary anyway, as I use a new bowl for every feeding), I still think it's wasteful.
plastic bags are evil!!!
I think they are cute but oh so wasefull. I would not get them. Plus one of my doggies has to have her dish, otherwise she wont eat. Ah so spoiled.
If these were biodegradable, then maybe. But since they're not - they're definitely a waste.
people need to get off their lazy arses and clean the freakin dishes.. not fill our landfills with more waste
They're cute. Probably wouldn't buy them, but if they were given to me as a gift, I'd definitely use them.
This could be good for places like pet-friendly hotels, but not in a house, thats just wasteful.
Wasteful. Now, if you're going on a trip I think their a good idea.
It might be an easier way to wash the bowls then throw them away. Especially since they are plastic and might be able to go into the dish washer...I think it might be a better idea if they were dish washer bowls then disposable ones..since you can take out what you need to clean and put it back in without sticking a big bowl in the dish washer. In that sense I think it might be a good idea..but to throw them away..you could just as easily use a paper bowl..
I've been washing pet's bowls for years with no problem, and that's what I'll continue to do! I can't imagine using the same unwashed dish for several days for my pets!
Just what the world needs, more plastic to dispose of... ugh - but I have to admit, the bowls are pretty cute.
We feed our dog a "raw diet" so these might be very nice for traveling. Right now we just make sure we wash the dish he uses in the dish washer and do a high temp rise. No problems so far!
What a HUGE waste! I just clean my kitty's dishes every 2-3 days...
they're plastic?!
I don't use plastic bowls with my cat anymore. Plastic leads to more germs and unsanitariness, which can cause problems for some cat's skin (some cats get kitty acne!) I only use stainless steel bowls which i wash a couple times a week.
so wasteful! the bowls are cute tho.
i agree, it's just as easy to freakin' wash the bowl. I've never had any problems with contamination. Soap takes care of that.
The design of the bowl is great, but I'm not sure I see the point of the throw away concept-not if it's supposed to be just once or twice a week-I certainly wouldn't want my plate changed just once or twice a week-that's just gross!!! Maybe as a one off if you're out, but I've never had an issue regarding catching anything from my dogs by washing their bowls, for three reasons- 1) They're healthier than me 2) I wash their bowls after every meal in the utility room, so it's not as if I'm chucking their bowls in with my washing up 3) It's only dog food-get over it!!!
wasteful!! They are great colors, but there is no way in hell I'd use them!
Maybe good for travel but otherwise its wasteful.
My dishwasher does a great job of cleaning the pet food bowls.
