Since the opening of Ratatouille in England, pet rats have become more popular than ever. In fact, Britain's Pets at Home chain said sales have skyrocketed 50 percent since the film premiered there on October 12! Many rodents, especially rats, get a bad rap despite their high levels of intelligence and trainability. While I certainly don't think movies should prompt people to adopt any pets, I do like to see maligned animals get a chance to shine in the public eye. I'm curious to know how you feel – share with me in your comments below!

I've never owned a rodent and never really had a large amount of time with rodents so I dont have a fave.
Although I do like seeing mice out in the wild (not in a house)They are cute. Mice are cute outside not inside
1I'm adopting a chinchilla
2I love rats. I used to have one, and he was so smart and fun. I really think they're the best rodent pets.
3im with jessness
4anything from that family may be cute but it doesn't belong in my home
Chinchillas! I have three.
5eeeewie lol im not a huge fan of rodents! i think they smell!! lol.. but i dont mind them if they arn't in my home so i would have to go with a rabbit or chinchilla!
6I like bunnies
7I like sugar gliders too! They are so cute
I have two rabbits, so they are my faves! Hamsters remind me too much of mice so I never liked them and guinea pigs are my second fave
8I'm going to be really pedantic and point out that I rabbit is not a rodent. Technically it is a "lagomorph" but I love them none the less.
9A sugar glider is a marsupial, not a rodent.
10I like squirrels. I let them eat birdseed on my porch. That way my cat is entertained during the day when I'm at work (indoor cat). : )
11All of the above!
Rabbits, chinchillas, hamsters, gerbils, squirrels, mice... etc etc. Love them all. ♥
I'm not a fan of getting any sort of pet without researching it first. Because of movies, holidays, or just because "it's cute". Grrr.
12Every one listed except Guinea Pigs. I hate them, because my brother had one, and it was evil. I've had rats, mice, hamsters, gerbils. I like rats the most because they are so smart, but I'm not keeping rodents as pets anymore, only as food for my python.
13Bunnies!!
14I'm a fan of the chinchilla. I just love seeing them roll around in their dust bath!
ESK, don't forget to check local shelters and rescues when adopting. The often have them there and the can be MUCH cheaper than getting one from the pet store.
15Heyyyy, rabbits aren't rodents! But they are my favorite out of the list, so I voted for them. They make great pets.
16chinchilla!!!
17Rats are really intelligent and very cute. Rabbits are also cute, but they're rather boring and I don't think I could cook one again if I had it as a pet.
18Ferrets! I had one growing up (Chompers) that was just so fabulous, they have the curiosity of a cat and the energy of a puppy - I just love them! I'd get one now, but I don't think my cats would appreciate it very much... LOL
19For a rodent I vote Chinchilla's I have 2 and they are so sweet. However I do love rabits and also have two of those but they are not rodents they are Lagomorphs.
20Bunnies! I always see one on my backyard at home.
21I love my bunny! She's so cute! So much personality.
22I've had rats.. and i love them too.. so smart and very misunderstood. Both rabbits and rats are very friendly and people oriented. Such sociable little creatures!
The only rodents I like are dead ones!
I think chinchillas are cute.
23Prairie Dogs!!!!
24capybara.
And Rabbits arent rodents. Not since 1912. they are in the lagomorpha classification.
25A friend of mine growing up used to have a rabbit named Floppy. They used to let it run around the house. Floppy was but there was rabbit dropping all over their house. It was really gross.
26Before I had dogs or babies I had a cute little bunny named Emily..she was red and gorgeous and was litter box trained in my apartment! So cute until she went into her first heat...then she was constantly trying to get out of the house. Since she was wild when I found her as a baby I took her back to the woods and set her free! I even think I saw her once after that!
27Ilk.....i'll stick to dogs, thanks though!
28Rabbits are my favorite animal besides cats...I can't wait to have a couple of them someday! English Angora ones. Love 'em.
29Silent Vamp is right -- rabbits aren't rodents. But I do love them.
30Used to have a rabbit and a hamster in college.. along with my cat! Couldn't have a dog so made do with what I could.. they all played together and I have the cutest pict of them lined up together .. so funny! Whenever my hapster got out of her ball my cat, Maddie, would bring her back to me in her mouth-- they were 'sisters'! haha
BTW-- Rats?! GROSS!! I freak out when I see one running by... ehhh!!
31Ok, I admit it, I could love 'em all! But I am a confessed bleeding heart!
32Rabbits! Esspecially since I have one. Beavers are my second fav, but I love them all!
33We have a long-haired hamster right now that looks like a huge yellow cottonball.
He's my favorite right now since he's so sweet.
34Definitely a Guinea Pig fan!
35Sorry Petsugar. Guinea Pigs are not rodents.

Guinea Pigs are the cutest! When I was 10 our father bought me and my brother a Guinea Pig, happens it was a female and she was pregnant! She had "oh so cute" babies and it started off a very large family. We were giving them to all our friends and neighbours, everybody loved them! I can say it is a fun pet to have, very clean and sociable, my brother and I used to play with them all the time! I have good memories from that time!
37BUNNIES!!
38yeah, the funny pig!
