Look carefully, it's not Halloween there... and those aren't costumes either! These are a couple finalists in the SuperGroom 2007 Creative Grooming Blowout category. This annual competition is where professional pet groomers show their stuff. Don't worry animal lovers, no harmful chemicals or dyes are used on the dogs to create these "fashions" – the only potential damage would be to the pooches' pride. What do you honestly think of these designs?

Oh God! Those dogs look so sad
I think that's cruel.
they look ridiculous... poor little boys! Why don´t they do it to thei own butts?!
Those poor dogs! Poodles are a really beautiful breed, when their hair isn't 'styled'. Why do people feel the need to do that to them?
Why?
totally cruel to do to an animal.
disgusting. that's not natural.
Could that possibley be healthy?!?!? yikes! Poor dogs

OMG THOSE DOGS CRACK ME UP!!!!
Poor little puppies...they must be soooo embarrassed!
i doubt the dog is ashamed that he looks like a ninja turtle i think they're looking so unpleased cus theyre on show in the first place
those dogs do ot look happy they look embarassed
It's funny, but it's not funny. Those poor dogs look ridiculous.
I can't stop laughing at the ninja turtle one!! HAHA I feel bad for the boy pups that they had to go through all that, but I don't think it's too big of a deal. I just can't beleive he's a ninja turtle haha. My dog is actually named after a character in the ninja turtles. B-Bop!!
What a waste of time! I think these people need to find a new hobby. I don't know whether to be more embarassed for the dog, or the groomer.
They could figure out other ways to showcase their talents. These poor dogs look ridiculous.
Oy! What people won't do to animals. If they could talk they would be SOOOOO mad at us! I'm all for great grooming, but this is just not okay in my book. Poor doggies.
Just embarassing...the poor dogs!!!
Poor dogs!
poor dogs. How long did they have to stand or sit still so some chump could get thier kicks.
INSANE.
The dogs probably love the attention. Children love getting dressed up and made up for Halloween and such. Dogs are mentally about a three-year-old child, according to the Discovery Channel's smartest animal show. Do they sit still the whole time? Probably not, but their patient groomer sweet talks them into submission. The dogs probably eat it up! The dyes are probably so safe I'm willing to bet the majority of people here use more chemicals on their dogs to bathe them than was used to dye these dogs. And on their own heads. I think people who assume DOGS get embarrassed have serious self-esteem issues of their own.
And I think these dogs look HUMILIATED
yeah mandy... the dogs don't care... thats why my dog went practically catotonic and refused to do anything but lay on her stomache when I tried to dress her up for christmas one year, because she loved the attention...
Ridiculous! Poor pooch!
the ninja turtle one still cracks me up
thats seriously wrong.
but poor doogies
those poor dogs
Gosh..those dogs are very strange...I think those dogs are mutant...who know...
Ridiculous
Poor puppies
I WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION THIS TYPE OF CUT WAS FOR "SHOW" not everyday. Poor babies.
Ohhh it's not cruel (for real cruelty, check out the declawing thread!). It's definitely not for the dogs' interests, but it doesn't harm them in any way, so I think we can just get a chuckle from it.
Poor poor babies.
those dogs look depressed
Those dogs look ridiculous and you can see on their faces that they agree.
Pitiful. I can't think of any other way to put it. Just Plain Pitiful.
Eek. I was a pet groomer for 6 years. Would never, ever do that to a dog.
I'm torn... As "art" it's interesting, but I couldn't imagine actually doing that to a dog. It's like run-way fashion. It looks beautiful, but no one would actually wear it.
poor dogs
poor pooches
