It's important to protect yourself and your pets from threats while on walks. You never know what you'll encounter strolling through an area with off-leash dogs or wild animals, and it's important to think about protection.
The idea of pepper spray was recommended in the comments of a past dealing with aggressive dogs post, and in Dean Koontz's A Big Little Life: A Memoir of a Joyful Dog, he mentions the same thing. After his dog Trixie was bitten by a loose dog, he kept a bottle saying it "discourages any dog mid-charge but does no permanent damage." What's your take on packing a bottle and using it?

I'd carry it. One bad incident with another dog can set your dog up for some emotional issues that are hard to overcome. I'd rather pepper spray a dog than risk my dog developing behavioral issues.

2I don't see a problem with it, it doesn't do any permanent damage so as I see it no harm done. I would do anything to protect my pooches, they're my babies!
3Before you carry ANY kind of defensive spray make sure that it is legal in your city and state for civilians to do so. You could be in a world of trouble with law enforcement if you carry or use these products and it is not allowed by law in your area.
4I already carry it. For the two-legged animals as well as the four-legged kind.
5Maybe but only for the most neccesary time!

7Bear Spray is great but only use on a bear if ABSOLUTELY necessary, as in have already done all the rest of the things you should do. Also never run from a grizzly. Not to be mistaken with a brown black bear or cinnamon bear which is common.
