Where can I look up more trees? We have a sugar maple and a yoshino cherry in our yard. We're thinking of adding a weeping willow too.
1I had no idea about the Red Maples. My parents have two of those, so we'll have to be more careful with our little four legged leaf shredder next time we're there.
Also, Pet, I've asked this a number of times before, but I'm going to keep asking for it. I find the information in these quizzes about pet toxins to be the most helpful and useful information you post on your site. However, these quizzes are a terrible way of disseminating this information. There is no mention of where in the country these various plants are most commonly found nor is there any detail about the sicknesses they can cause. "Toxic" or "Not Toxic" isn't enough. Is this something that's going to kill my dog if she licks it or is it just going to give her a little GI upset even if she ate a whole pile of leaves? Organ failure or a skin rash? There is so much more information that could be given. A regular feature highlighting one or two potentially poisonous plants/trees/foods a few times a week would be much, much more helpful!
