Summer's officially over. Sigh. I like to think North and I are best suited for dry-land adventures (or boat trips, of course), but this Boston Terrier gives me hope. Guido not only bravely dives off the dock and swims to fetch a toy, he then climbs a ladder at the end! Impressive. I'll be grabbing a life vest and luring North into the water next year!

My dog is afraid of water, and won't even go near the sprinkler, so that counts him out completely.
1My cat, however, loves to climb ladders, especially tall ones. But I don't think I'd like to put him in water.
Impressive! My lab/border collie mix couldn't do that, I don't think. She's more of a ramp girl.
2That is cute - the toy is almost as big as he is!
3Wow! Actually YES, my childhood golden, Mac, could climb ladders!
We had an in-ground pool most of Mac's life, and in the deep end the only way out was by a big ladder. Mac could easily walk up the stairs in the shallow end, but sometimes he would swim and just haul himself out over there. Our vet said this was very rare, and meant Mac was very strong, because dogs usually cannot do this! Which was odd because Mac spent most of his time laying around/floating around on a raft we had just for him!
It did not look easy to say the least. I'm not sure if Bexley (our current golden) can do this, he loves to swim, but doesn't swim in pools with ladders. Patterson definitely CAN'T because he won't even get in water!
