In Jan. 2009 my dog was diagnosed with a mast cell tumor. it happened overnight and was the size of tennis ball. Unfortunately she had another tumor in July very small but grade III. She had to get surgery both times & in researching theories about mast cell tumors it says a dog with allergy problems could be at greater risk which my dog has always had since she was about a year old.
Good advice is examining your dog once a week or everyday if you have time(especially if your dog is older) for any weird lumps or skin problems.
