I didn't catch the 2009 Daytime Emmy Awards last night on TV, but I did stumble upon this photo today: a soap star holding a . . . stuffed cat. My web research reveals that Stacy Haiduk plays a delusional Mary Jane Benson (aka., Patty Williams after a facelift) on The Young and the Restless, and frequently confides in her cat, "Kitty."
So, naturally (unnaturally?), the actress chose to bring one of the prop cats to the ceremony — what looks like once-living, now-stuffed model is her date on the red carpet. I'm both captivated and creeped out by how lifelike this feline looks — I'd love to hear your takes on taxidermy in the comments below!

I understand some people have personal connections with their pets, but that should strictly be kept behind closed doors.
1I find it disturbing. I love my dogs as much as people love children but I couldn't get them stuffed once they pass on. I'd rather have them cremated and/or buried.
2See the little guy in my avi? He will be stuffed, or freeze dried. I love that dog (I have other pets, but wouldn't do the same to them) and I want him to be with me always. I would NOT carry him around outside of my house however! (another option, is hopefully cloning... I hope by the time he's had a full life, cloning pets will be far more affordable. I'd do it in a heartbeat.)
3It seems peculiar... I won't judge, but I wouldn't do it.
4If I stuffed a pet I think I'd get depressed every time I looked at it. Depressed and creeped out. No thank you.
