I had a neighbor growing up who got a black lab puppy, called her Sheena, only for her to get hit by a car and die. They got another black lab puppy and called her sheena too but took her back at age 2 to the breeder because they thought she wasn't pure bred and got a third black lab puppy and called her sheena. They also had two chocolate labs at different times and called them bear.

I don't know - after seeing this family (who probably shouldn't have owned a dog), I have to give each pet a unique name.

I name all of my pets in video games the same thing (they're all Weford) . . . but real pets? They're too unique!

My grandmother had poodles when she still lived in Chicago--when my dad was growing up it was Tiger, then when I was younger Tippy, well they got another poodle when TIppy died and tried another named (Peppi or something else equally annoying) and just always called her Tippy anyways. They were just too old to remember another name at that point!

I love naming my dogs--sometimes I call them my old dogs names but I love coming up with new names.

Each one is unique and deserves a unique name. They are like children and deserve to have a special name!

I always give my pets their own names, reusing them would seem too weird for me! Even my goldfish get their own names. Okay, there might have been more than one Goldie when I was 5, but since then they've all been unique

all my wow chracters have different names, why wouldn't my pets?
plus i agree with every other commented - they are all so individual. there will never be another guinea pig like poko or another dog like raynor to me.

I give all my pets their own name, but when my mom was a kid they had a couple dogs with the same name (I think it was Peg).

Each of my pets had or have their own name. No pet has had a name of a previous pet.

definantly unique names, every pet has a different personality. my cats have a name plus a nickname which gets used more often.
