Both my kitties lay belly up all the time and while that might mean they are comfortable around us it definitely doesn't mean they want to be petted.
1My cat loves to lay on her back but does not want to be touched. She will roll over if I try to come close to her.
2My cat does this the second anyone walks in the door!
