I've had three coworkers loose their puppy to parvo and know several others who have lost a puppy or had a puppy contract parvo in this area. It is a really bad disease for a puppy to get... and really sad when it can be so easily prevented by vaccinations.
1That cow name story is still blowing my mind!
2Starangle, it is sad but at the same time there is a reason vets tell people not to let there puppy on the "outside" ground until the full series of vaccinations are complete. Puppies always get several shots their first several weeks after being weaned off mom. Parvo can live on the ground where there is high animal traffic. Thats how most puppies get it.
3I used to work at an animal clinic and it is really heartbreaking to see puppies dying because of something that normally can be avoided (in my clinic it was usually people owners thought "Oh, I just want to show him off. He's so cute, it won't hurt just a few minutes on a walk outside).
I meant *Starangel*, oopsie.
