Mickey Rourke picked up the award for Best Actor last night at the Golden Globes, and gave a very special shout-out. Now I haven't seen The Wrestler yet, but I've been hearing all about his big comeback in this film, and I totally teared up during the speech. At the very end, he thanks all his pups, present and passed, because "sometimes, when a man's alone, that's all you've got is your dog." Awwww. if it were anyone else I would think it was adorable but he creeps me out. ugh.
1at first i thought he meant like his "dawgs." lol.
2Haven't seen the movie, and don't know a whole lot about this guy other than he has lived a not so easy life. For him to acknowledge the wonderous impact that animals have had in the course of his journey....nothing short of beautiful.

But it was really sweet. And true...sometimes all you have are your pets, and it's nice to know that they love you unconditionally.
4I thought it was a very sweet moment. And having been so withdrawn and isolated, I understand where that gratitude comes from.
5I was go happy to see him win. He's an odd bird, but I've always liked him.
6For those of you who haven't heard of Micky Rourke, you need to check he and Kim Basinger out in this clip from 9 1/2 weeks...before he got kind of ugly. You won't recognize him.
