No more BSL!
1When I was younger I remember reading that cats have a higher probability of surviving a fall greater than nine stories than below because of the way they stretch their limbs they are able to almost "glide" like flying squirrels once they are outstretched enough. I wish I could find a source for this idea, because it has me wondering.
2I heard that same thing too, kia
3That's one lucky cat and one very lucky and I hope grateful cat owner.
My cat Libby fell only 4 floors and died. She hit my neighbors open window as she fell and could not right herself. AS a result she slammed her head full force into the cement patio below and split her palate. Killing her instantly - so says the vet, I hope his right.
I will never forget the horrible image of looking down from my window after calling her name for 15 minutes and seeing her, my poor baby, lying below on the ground lifeless.
I still have nightmares about seeing her there. I screamed for like a hour while I craddled her and tried to remember the phone number for her vet or searched the phone book for a pet ambulance.
I hate looking out of the window and when I got Chloe and Ursula I put up heavy duty industrial screen that I made with redwood that prevent my babies from falling like Libby did.
4We screen in our deck too and make sure there is nothing close for them to get up on the railing, even though we are only second floor and the ground is not that far. I do not like when my cats put their head through the railing bars. Of course, we do not allow them to be out there alone.
5I hate BSL!! It's not the pit's fault a lot of "owners" are cruel and stupid idiots! I've seen many beautiful, sweet as sugar pits raised by loving and responsible people and I've seen many vicious pits raised by cruel, wanna-be macho thug morons. The "mean" pits are usually destroyed, but those idiots are not banned from owning future pets.
BAN THE CRUEL MORONS, NOT THE PITBULLS!
