While we've been anxiously waiting for any announcement about the TBD Obama puppy, the "second dog" was just introduced over the weekend. Vice President-elect Joe Biden picked out a three-month-old German Shepherd from a kennel in suburban Philadelphia on Saturday. The lil boy won't join the family quite yet and still remains nameless. Turns out Biden told the breeder that honor will go to his grandkids . . . but, with five of them, how will everyone agree on just one name?!

I hope that they enjoy their new pup!
1German Shepherds are loyal and intelligent. They picked a great breed!
2I hope they enjoy their pup, but why buy from a breeder!?!? Why not rescue a German Shepard.....there are SOOOOOOO many that need rescuing!?!
3omg, that puppy is so freaking adorable! my cousin got a German Shepard when he was a puppy and he's trained him so well. i love those dogs because they are extraordinarily intelligent, loyal and very protective. great, great dogs.
4aww yay!
5they should name him Scranton.
I'm glad they got a pup, hopefully from a reputable breeder! They are just as vital as rescues to the breed!
6A German shepherd is a good dog, but I'm with Aphrosette... why not get one from the shelter?
