While I can't say North has ever had a stone massage like this lucky smooshy, I bet he'd love it. . . . if he sat still long enough, that is.
Not as unusual as you may think, many shops will offer "facials" or "puppasage" – and remember that fancy jacuzzi? – for stressed pets. While my budget demands that I do this myself, if money was no object, I'd love to treat North to a "pet relaxation session" — what pampering would your dog or cat most love to receive?

J would love it....B would be way too nervous to enjoy unless I was right next to her
1I find that the best stress therapy for my pups is a nice long run at the beach or in the hills, and then a good long nap!!
They also receive relaxing body and ear massages, but they don't have to go to the spa for that. They get it right here at home!
2Sadie Grace is extremely people shy. Unless she knew the person giving he treatment this would be nothing but stress for her!
3My cats would FLIP OUT if I took them to a spa...
Honestly, pets need a lot of love, exercise, a good diet, fresh water, and more love.
Pets do not need: ridicuously expensive spa treatments, $200 collars, or outfits.
I would LOVE if all the people who spent money on outfits, spa treatments, designer food bowls ... donated half of that money to their local shelter.
4A stoned smooshy!
All Oliver really needs to relax (any further and he would be comatose) is a good belly rub from me, and it's free!
5I can't say that Gretel is ever stressed. If she is, then I am not doing something right!
I do pamper during bath time though - she gets a "puppy massage" while working in the lather.
6while some might consider this over the top, my sheltie received acupuncture and chiropractic treatments a few months back. however, this was not just for fun. when he came up lame the regular vet suggested a multitude of xrays, medications, and a specialist (the $$$ kept on growing). a friend suggested trying alternative medicine so i did - and i was skeptical to say the least. however, after a few visits my little buddy is better than new and doesn't need xrays, medication or a specialist!!! i'm not a firm believer in alternative medicine for dogs and if i had more money he'd be going all the time.
7typo - meant to say that i AM a firm believer in alternative medicine for dogs.....
8Rally -- is that your sheltie? he's beautiful! So glad to hear he's doing better and you found something that works well
9I dunno... My dog is happy just being able to sleep in our bed!
10runningesq - yes, that's my sheltie. he looks sad in his halloween costume ... typically his little eyes are dancing and he's tricky as can be.
11Because dogs lives are soooooo stressful ... with all the sleeping, eating and playing and all... I'd save the money for a massage for myself!
