Dogs 101: What Did You Learn in Episode 106?
Rhodesian Ridgeback
Did you know these dogs can keep up with a running horse for 30 miles?! Amazingly courageous, this large muscular dog was bred to hunt lions in Southern Africa – in fact, the saying "keeping a lion at bay" came from this breed. Rhodesians most unique feature is that ridge on their backs – it's actually hair growing in the opposite direction of the rest symmetrically tapering down the entire length of a dog's body.
