Q: My kitty keeps peeing on a chair in my living room. At first I wasn't sure, but I know that stench all too well and several times it's still been damp to the touch when I get home from work. I don't want this problem to spread so how do I save my couch and other chairs?
A: Most cats hate citrusy smells – similar to keeping them away from your plants with lemon halves, sprays, or peel shavings, soak a cotton ball with lemon juice and place it on that chair, near the spot where your cat continues to relieve herself.
Another way to keep felines off furniture is aluminum foil – cats typically don't like the sound nor feeling under their paws and should stop jumping up once you put it there. In fact, you shouldn't have to do this forever (that could get annoying when you want to plop down to watch TV and again before you go to bed) as kitties easily recall such things.

Definitly clean the chair with Nature's Miricle or a similar product to remove all the odor. Once cats have soiled an area, the smell attracts them to do their thing in the same place in the future. Also, if the foil doesn't do the trick, you might want to try putting several strips of double-sided tape on the cushions, backrests and armrests of your furniture. Cats just LOVE double-sided tape!
1I definitely agree with fuzzles, but unfortunately most products will never fully cover the smell (for the cat's nose, at least). So i usually recommend to my clients to get rid of that piece of furniture and start new using some of the tricks recommended (double sided tape does wonders).
2If a cat is eliminating outside of the litter box, it is one of two problems: medical or behavioral. The first thing you should do is take your cat to the vet to rule out a medical problem. One of our cats kept peeing outside of the litter box and, after taking her to the vet, found out she had a UTI. Another cat kept pooping outside of the litter box and we found out she had (EW) worms. (barf).
3I had a cat who tee-teed because of behavioral issues. she peed in my purse, on clean laundry, on the couch, in the corner...she hated that we got a new kitten. we would lock her in the bathroom for a while till she stopped and started using the litter box again and she would be fine for weeks...and then pee in the purse, couch...we gave her to my inlaws, who have no pets. she is fine now.
