Our polling place is super tiny and in our neighborhood so the dogs always go. We usually stop on our walk. I think if it was a bigger area they wouldn't though.

I already voted and didn't even think about it as a possibility. Early voting rocks!

In Oregon you can mail in your ballot so Cuba was here when I voted.

I didn't know you could do that. I might, since I like to bring B-Bop wherever he can go. He's small and not barky or annoying so I don't see how bringing him is any worse than the screaming children that I had to deal with last time I voted. I think THAT is inappropriate.

I read the title to this post to hastily and thought it said "Will Your Pet Rock Vote At Your Local Polling Place?" *shaking head*

I'd never thought of it. I'd hate to get there and have them say "No dogs" and have to wait in line all over again.

I live directly across the street from my polling place, literally just a few steps away, so there would really be no point.

Maybe I'm just a cat person and I don't "get" the compulsion to have your dog with you at all times, but why would you even consider taking a dog to vote? That's silly. I don't mean any offense, but that seems to be more trouble than it's worth, and not that fun for the dog.

erinridgeway, dogs pretty much love to go anywhere with you, especially if there are other people around, so I doubt bringing them to a polling place would be any less fun than anywhere else. I know my dog would love to go, but still, I'm not going to take him... there's no point.

It's also a matter of consideration for your fellow voters. You have no idea if the person next to you is afraid of dogs or allergic. I'd rather not make voting a bad experience for someone else.

Taking your children to vote? Absolutely! Taking your dog? Inappropriate. I don't think it's even a possibility at my polling place, plus being around so many people in such a small space would stress Logan out. Not to mention, what if someone at the polls doesn't like dogs or someone brings their child and he's afraid? That's not a good experience for anyone!

I bring my pup everywhere with me and was actually considering bringing her to the polls; until, during our morning walk, I noticed a "No Dogs Allowed" sign. It made me a little sad.
