When LilPeaPod came back from her adventure with Samson at the Worldwide Fido Awards, she told us all about the great staff at the Le Merigot – where she stayed while filming the show. I know some hotels have a "Pet-Friendly" policy, but aren't too friendly when you check in. Thankfully, that wasn't the case when she arrived:

I was very impressed with the staff of the Le Merigot Hotel in Santa Monica, who went out of their way to make us feel comfortable, and treated Samson like a king – it was definitely all about him while we were there. Our hostess at the hotel café even brought Samson some ice to chew on to cool him down in the heat! Needless to say, if we ever need a place to stay in Santa Monica, we'll be heading back to the Le Merigot.
I've stayed at a few W hotels (and North loved the doormen at the one in our old NYC neighborhood), where do you like to stay when traveling with your pet?

Vivienne Westwood
Pedro Garcia
Rocket Dog
awww!
1I hate non-pet friendly hotels! We always have to sneak out baby in!!!
I have found that Sofitel hotels are very pet friendly and welcoming. I stay at one during a horse show and they greeted my dog and gave him treats.
2The last time we stayed at a hotel with Lulu, it was a Four Points Sheraton. The staff was very friendly.
3I can't remember the others we've stayed at (it's usually a last minute scramble) but even if hotels accept pets, their policies can be horrible.
The Ritz Carlton Miami Beach is outsanding. We pulled in late night/early morning and immediately the doormen asked if GiGi needed water Even though I said no they still brought a bottle of Ritz water and a silver bowl while we were checking in. There were bowls in the room with extra bottles of water and a welcome dog treat!
4i've stayed at one too many Motel 6s in hee haw villes while going to dog shows. best story - shortly after checking in, my aussie had her head under the bed and reappeared with a condom wrapper in her mouth. ICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
5LOL Rally! That is gross!
6My favorite is La Quinta . . . They're affordable and dog/pet-friendly. It's chain policy, although they don't make it widely known.
