It looks like I'm not the only one in favor of using a crate! Samson is totally comfy in his little home, and according to LilPeaPod, sometimes even prefers his own private space to other spots in the house!

Right before I took this picture, my BF, Samson and I had just gotten home from a long walk. Normally, Samson likes to curl up with us on the couch and take a nap, but this time he crawled right into his travel crate and went to sleep! I caught this photo right after he snuck away to catch some zzz's.
He looks so sleepy! Are your pets more comfy in their small, private spaces, or do they prefer to sprawl out around the house?

I have a 7 year old Yorkie and most of the time he likes to follow me around the house and curl up around me when I'm sitting. Sometimes though he needs a break and then he retreats to his crate or one of his beds (yes I said ONE OF) around the house.
1My dog doesn't have a crate anymore (he did while he was being trained, though), but he prefers his own bed to ours, thankfully.
2Eegor prefers to be lounging on the couch or on our bed, but he knows when it's time to go to bed it's into his crate he goes! We call it his "house" so it sounds less mean, haha. He goes in willingly and doesn't protest at all :]
3My puppy has a big othopedic bed with all her toys and a blankie on it
I dunno, I
just don't like crates...never have never will. That's just my opinion tho
4One of my Boston's loves going into his crate whenever he wants some alone time, however the other one prefers one of his beds or the guest bed...I guess it just depends on the dog...
5We had such a horrible time crate training Bailey (she prefers the couch/our bed) that we didn't crate train Jager either. Jager does eat in his crate, but sleeps with us or on one of their beds.
6Samson looks so cute cuddled in his little crate. It makes perfect sense to me that dogs and cats would gravitate to their crates as save havens.
7B-Bop loves his crate, especially when it's chilly, he get's all snuggly in there. I know some people think it's mean or whatever, but it's really not a CAGE, i mean we actually leave the door open most of the time, but it's the safety he feels in his "den" that he likes I think.
8My German Shepard always goes into his if he thinks we are leaving. My little Frenchie/Pug mix pouts in the morning and goes into hers before we leave too. I think the prefer to be snuggled up with us though.
9When my dog was a puppy, she used to curl up in a tiny little wooden decorative bowl where we stored miscellaneous items. After she grew too big for that bowl, now, she just goes into any empty rooms in the house when she needs some alone time. She has never been a crate dog, though. Since she was a puppy, she has always refused to go into any dog carrier bags or crates.
10Our baby prefers to be on our laps but when it's time to go to bed, she goes to her crate without any complaint. Probably because she knows she gets a cookie!
11Logan's food and water bowls are in his crate along with his toys and bed (it's a huge wire crate - wider than my computer desk, and just as deep and tall) so he'll chill in there when he wants some alone time. The only time the door is closed is when we're going to be gone for more than an hour - and that's because Logan has a strange affinity for electrical cords when no one is looking!
