I love to see celebs getting snuggly with their pooches [1], so how delighted was I to catch this glimpse of Susan Sarandon and her lil Maltese?! Even so, I'm less pleased to witness the furry-pal-inside-purse phenom [2] later that night.

Granted, the two were attending Longchamp's 60th Anniversary celebration [3] in NYC, so the Legende Satchel [3] was a must-have, but where's a proper tote for her precious pet, Penny? Next time, hopefully she'll carry that metallic trend with an appropriate luxe, gold (dog) bag like these below.
