yes, my kitten fell out of a tree and broke her leg in multiple places. it was so pitiful! we had her operated on (pins and plates in her leg just like a human), and just a few months later,
she was good as new. It was incredible.
We actually bought a puppy with a broken leg. She looked so cute with her little cast on, she immediately stood out among the other lab puppies, and we took her home!
Yes. My dog was rescued from a hunter's steel trap. She lost her eye and damaged her paw.
I shudder to think of all the animals caught in inhumane steel traps... the lucky one die right away, but there are plenty, like my dog, who have to sit for hours with unbearable injuries
until some heartless hunter comes along to finish them off.
Yes, his leg. It was a couple of years ago, but I still have a vivid memory of it Italian greyhounds
have fragile legs, especially when they are young.
no, no broken bones but both of them have had their legs bandanged for other reasons which still made it difficult to get around, and they just looked so cute with their casty things on!
No, but there was one time when I thought my favorite pooch had gotten hit by a car, he was sitting down really odd, whining like he was in pain and laid in the same area all day for about 8
hours, i was really worried, me and my mom tried picking him up and he cried....he tried walking and couldn't move his lower body, we were about to take him to the vet and then he
Miraculously got up and walked later on that day......
When I was a kid, we had a Brittany named June who was a very skilled escape artist. She had a lot of quirks and did lots of weird stuff, such as digging little holes all over the yard and
putting bits of kibble in them like a squirrel. One day she jumped our 6 foot fence and was hit by a car. She was unconscious, and my dad rushed her to the vet. Turned out she had a broken
jaw. Ouch! The vet had to wire her jaw and put her on a liquid diet until it healed.
After that, we put her on a run when she was in the yard so that she could still move around the whole yard, but couldn't get out (or so we thought!). She found her way out of that a few
times too, chewing through the cable, etc. One morning I went out to play with her, and she was gone. We put up posters all over, and kept calling animal control to see if she had been picked
up, but we never saw her again. To this day, I still wonder where she went and what happened to her.
yep, one of my dogs broke one of his ankles by falling into a hole that he had dug himself!! Stinkin' dog... still love him, but what a doof he was when he was a pup (he was about 8 months
old when he did this). Of course, he never let the cast stay on for more than a day... I suppose it healed ok because he is fine now.
one of my sick neighbors hated cats, and threw my cat by the tail across his yard, damaged something in her spine, tail was limp for couple of months. they said we would have had to amputate
it if it didn't get better but it did poor kitty was scared to go
outside for a looooong time.
No broken bones, hopefully we won't have to go through that! My old cat though went through a lot, hit by a car which broke her leg and some kids tried to beat her up, throwing rocks and
baseballs at her and cracked her rib. I get so pissed when I think about that. Errrrrrrrr. RIP Jelly
