I've shared my tips for tomorrow's big day – if you could bring a pet to work, would you? Those of you who have, or work in a dog-friendly spot, share your stories and experiences – the funnier, the better!

I would if I could! My dog would be really well-behaved at work...she'd probably just sleep by my desk the whole time. That's what she does at home, anyway!
1I work in a dog friendly office and Harley comes with me almost every day. There are some days when I know she is just going to bother me all day and I wouldn't get any work done if she was there.
It can be loud but it's nice. She loves to run laps up an down our long hall when she can. If Cisco (a hearder) is there he tries to strong arm her back into my space. We have a goldendoodle named Cooper that comes in from time to time too. Cooper is so big for only a year, and he's just a dumb little muppet. Harley loves playing with Cooper, other than the fact that he's bigger than her and she can't get away from him easily.
I wouldn't want to leave her home all day every day, she would get so lonely and wouldn't get as much play time. It's good training time too. Bullies love to pull and I need to teach her not to drag me behind her on leash.
2Nope. Two cats that like to run and roughhouse and are scared of strangers would not be welcome at my new job.
Back when I had my first German Sheppard, Tucker, my employer LOVED when I would bring him to work. It was a record/video store and Tucker was just the perfect discouragement for loiters and thieves.
3When I was a bank teller, my boss would bring her little dog to work and let it run around our area. Once I went to step away from the window and the customer called on me to stop - I was about to step in a fresh gift the little dickens had left on the carpet. It was one of those glassed in areas too, so the smell was trapped.
4Animals don't belong at work unless it's a real pet-friendly environment and you plan on taking care of your animal's needs.
We have an office dog where I work! He's awesome. He's a beautiful pure American Rat Terrier! He actually has helped us in the office. He's a great stress reliever. When we feel like we've been sitting down for too long or need a break, we can take him for a walk. It's great!
I just wanted to comment on what stephley said. Dogs have to be house trained if they come to the office. You're boss shouldn't bring it otherwise. However, our office puppy wasn't house trained when he started coming to the office. BUT he was trained really well while he was at the office. And if he did have an accident the owner (one of my co-workers) would clean it.
5For sure...I am passionate about my dogs.
6I agree with stephly, as well. An animal that is comfortable in a work environment, is used to people and strangers, and has it's needs taken care of while at the office is more than welcome in my opinion. Dog or cat. The owners of a particular pet (like we "own" them!) need to make that wise decision.
My Oliver Katt would have a coronary in a strange office, especially a bustling one. He is a complete Mama's Boy, very much being happiest at home and with people that he has slowly grown to trust. Not a candidate for an office pet!
7Awww when I get my puppy I would love to bring him to work with me!
8I wish we had a dog-friendly office
My cat would just curl up by the window and sleep, but it would be a nice luxury to bring her in every once in a while.
9BloodyFUFU,
That is so cool!!! I would totally bring my pet to work with my everyday (or nearly so) is I could. I think that would be a MAJOR morale booster and people probably wouldn't be so antsy about working late if need be!!!
And also, pets have a soothing quality, so I assume that would instantly make the work place much more friendly!!!
10One of my goals in life is to own my own business, so that I can be my own boss, have flexible hours, and take my dog to work with me!
11I would bring my pet to work every day if I could. Too bad schools don't work like that
12I tried to get our office involved, but was told that pets in the workplace are "in violation of our lease." booooooo
13If I could, I would DEFINITLY bring my little kitten to work. She is well behaved and has such a wonderful personality (yes I know, she's a cat) but she's super affectionate and just the sweetest thing on earth and I would keep her in my lap all day if I could, or let her play around my desk...
14Honestly wouldn't want to torture my dog that way haha!
15There's no way I could even if I thought she would enjoy it, which I highly doubt.
I would definitely bring one of my labs to work with me. He's got some bad separation anxiety issues and would be more than happy to just lay next to my desk with me all day long!
There is a construction company where I live and their logo is a dog and a lot people get to
bring their pets to work with them. I'm jealous.

I thought it was NEXT friday! At least that's what my Frank Bruynbroek calendar says. Darn ~ I
so could of brought Mimi!!
17If I could I would
18i would...max has calmed down alot! i never would have a couple of years ago, he was unmanageable.
19My dog Hailey was hit by a car in August 08. She broke her leg and had to be equipped with an external fixator on her back leg. She had to be supervised for 3 full months 24/7. I was allowed to bring her to work and keep her calm in my office. She has now healed 100% and nobody wants me to stop bringing her now. She has become the office mascot and I wouldn't want it any other way. This work environment has been much more relaxed and less stressful since she has been coming with me every day!
