Yes...puppy tries to catch any flies that make their way in and buzz around the window trying to get out. But all my doggies love to chase lizards in the back yard. And actually they catch them pretty frequently.
My Sammy loves loves loves to chase bugs. Sometimes we'll find him staring at a wall for an extended period of time and once we get close we realize he's fixated on a bug. Funny thing though he'll never try to catch it. he'll stare at them, follow the noise but never paw or lunge for them. Weird huh?
Raider is a ratter. Loves to chase the bugs and the birds that I feed. I'm forever scolding him not to chase the birds. He has a bird brother and doesn't chase him around the house.
Yes!! My cat Krystal loves anything the moves! It's so fun to watch her. She'll stalk a fly, and grab it right out of the air. If she can't catch it she just sits and watchs it until it is within her reach.
Yes my cat Ruby loves to catch bugs. she has been known to stalk a fly. She loves to play with spiders.
Let's just say that since we got Brando, we no longer get crickets in the apartment....
My Emma Katt would find any bug in my apartment. Imagine the horror of seeing my beautiful Fancy Feast cat with a centipede dangling out of her mouth, crunching eupohorically. My current Persian had a sh*t fit when a spider ran over one of his back paws. He clung to me for about 20 minutes after the "attack."
We've had a lot of flies lately and B-Bop goes crazy snapping at them. He's usually not even close but he'll do it forever.
Charlie loves it! He even likes to chase the shadows of butterflies on the ground.
Kassie is really good at catching flies. All I have to do is say "Get the fly" and point to it and she is off. Both of the dogs love moths and junebugs
This post reminded me of the old Heart song, "Dog and Butterfly." Worth at search on Youtube! Skritches to you and yours!
My dog loves to bite at the big fat bumblebees that are low to the ground. I don't know if she's been stung but she just keeps doing it. She likes moths too. She sure didn't get that from me!
I used to have a cat who loves to catch flies. She wouldn't eat it, just killed it for fun I think.
Our lab could care less about bugs. However, our rottie is an awesome fly-catcher.
This is one of the best games for my 2 kittens. They will chase any bug that comes into our apt. for hours. Great entertainment
I had a chihuahua that liked to find dead bugs and put his ear to them and just sit there. We called him the bug reaper because it reminded us of the T.V. show "Dead Like Me". He would lay his ear over the bug for a couple of minutes and then walk away. He never tried to catch and eat them like previous dogs I have owned.
My golden retriever likes to pick up bugs and throw them a few feet away... it's a little gross.
But if they are jumping bugs/insects... she runs away.
Both dogs love to 'hunt' insects. Unfortunately Bees and Wasp are in the group of insects they like to chase. Last year axle caught a wasp and ended up with a golf ball size swelling on his lip. We had to take him to the vet to get a shot. Poor big goober!
TOTALL! Raja just grossed me out last night trying to eat a beetle the size of a golf ball that was on our deck!!
My Bean chases everything, from bugs in the yard, to birds in the sky...Most recently, she thought she was a squirel, and proceeded to chase one half way up a tree.
Our cats are not very interested in bugs that just crawl around, but once they show they have the ability to fly, the cats go nuts trying to catch them. I guess they feel the non-flying ones are too easy.
