I don't know about your pets, but this dog has all of my previous dogs beat by, well . . . a lot! Bella, a Labrador mix from the UK, is said to be at least an amazing 29 years old, if not pushing three decades! Her owners, David and Daisy Richardson, say that they brought the tenacious pooch home from an animal shelter 26 years ago when she was "at least" three. But due to missing records, Bella can't be verified by the Guinness Book of World Records as top dog. Understandably, Bella's age of 200 in doggie years would slow anyone down, but she still manages to get around. During a brief scare when the Richardsons thought they would have to finally put Bella to rest, David took her to the vet to be checked out:
"I decided to take her to the vet to be checked and she said Bella was very fit for her age apart from a bit of arthritis in her legs. Her heart is strong and she can still potter around the garden so she might have a good few years left."

Two other dogs have been listed in the Guinness Book of World Records: Butch from the US, who celebrated 28 doggie b-days, and Bluey from Australia, who rang in 29 years and five months as the longest living dog ever.
Maybe they drank from the dog bowl of youth, but I would love to get their long-lasting secrets so North and I can share just as many decades together!!

4Wow that's so awesome! My first cat we got when I was one and she lived to be 23 years old. She was totally spry until the last year and age kind of caught up with her. Aww I miss her. B-Bop will be 2 next month and I can't imagine life without him. May all our pets live long and happy lives!

14We have 3 (barn) cats that will be 19 this fall. My pup will be 3...I could only wish for him to live as long and as healthy. He's definitely family.
15One of my Labs is 15.5 years old. It's pretty amazing that she's lasted list long but except for some arthritis/weakness in her hind legs she's great. I adopted her when she was 10 so I'm happy to have had her this long.
16Dogs are such great company. Congratulations to Bella. I had many dogs growing up, but never saw them die. I would really have a hard time with that. My mom had a dog who was 13 and he was killed by a car. Ever since she has slowly lost her memory of the present. She really loved her Lucky.

My dog is 17 yrs old. I wanted to see how old the oldest dog in the world was. That is long. Mine is blind, deaf and missing all but one tooth. She still finds me by smell. She follows me everywhere around the house. Seeing that there is other dogs that keep going is awesome. I'm totally a dog lover. Husband calls me the dog whisper. I'm not just love them as much as they love me.
23my dog is 17 years old she can only see close up and she is almost deaf. but on the other hand she is still running besides me when I'm riding my bike and she enjoys playing fetch and going on walks. we are working on our deck and she fell of the side of it and it is about 11 feet high and just landed perfectly and she just started running again. she is the toughest dog i know. and i think and hope she will make it to my favorite number 21.
