Oprah opened today's show by saying it was for "anybody, anywhere who loves a dog, has ever loved a dog or just cares about their basic right to human treatment." She dedicated the show to her spaniel, Sophie, who passed away on March 10, saying:
Sophie gave me 13 years of pure unconditional love. She was the true love in my life. In fact, she's been one of the greatest reasons for me to be a kinder, more gentler person.
The tribute video, which Oprah's team put together for her, is incredibly moving. See for yourself, but before you start, you might want to grab a tissue.
DOGS RULE

1 Sorry to hear about her dog.
I'm tired of reading about The Church of Oprah.
While Puppy Mills is a topic that should be talked about, it's sad that it has to be aired on her show in order for people to take notice.
She will put just about anything on her show these days and then people believe it. Just like that pyramid scheme book "The Secret."
People are actually basing their vote on the President of the United States because of what Oprah says! I give up!
She couldn't be bothered to walk her own puppy and the poor thing choked on a ball. She said she came running from her house without shoes on and so forth.
I just don't get why celebrities have pets when they cannot even take care of them.
I actually look forward to coming home after a long day and feeding my cat and then allowing him to much on grass outside. Afterwards, he usually rewards me by sitting on my lap. I couldn't imagine hiring someone else to do this for me.
I once worked for this physical therapist who thought it was my job to walk her Shihtzu. She lived not 10 minutes from the clinic. She could just as easily went home on her lunch to walk her dog.
