In this week's episode of How I Met Your Mother Neil Patrick Harris' lady-killer character attempted to pick up a woman at a pet store. He was unsuccessful, but his attempt made me realize how often people use cute pets to strike up conversations with strangers.
Is it just me or do people become more attractive when they are with their pets?
I don't think it makes people more attractive, but it definitely makes them more approachable...

I don't use him to flirt or get guys, but talk talking about dogs is a good ice breaker just when trying to meet new people.

YES. They do become more attractive! I've had a little crush on every single Vet I've ever gone to (except the woman, but I wanted to be her best friend), no matter how old, unattractive, or not-my-type they are!

haha when my aunt and uncle got their first jack russell terrier puppy my uncle would walk him around our tiny downtown area. he used to go "this dog is better than having a baby!" apparently
all the women loved them

Whenever I walk my dog, tons of women are up on his business. If I were a lesbian, I'd be in so much business from that pup.
