With the weather getting warmer, I'm sure you'll be headed outdoors to get some play time in at local beaches, lakes, rivers, and maybe even doing some camping with your four-legged friends. North especially loves the beach, but I don't love what the sand and salt water do to my car's interior! Try as I might, putting towels down in the car and in North's car seat doesn't always do the trick. Sometimes they even end up as toys before he even gets in! So when I saw this car Canine Cover ($200), made just for these types of situations, I immediately put it on my Summer wish list.
To hear more about what makes it so necessary, read more.
Made from a water repellent top and nylon bottom, this cover is primed to stop claw marks, pet hair, and wetness from seeping into your leather or cloth seats. Plus, they come in a number of sizes, so it's bound to fit my Mini Cooper, all the way up to a big 'ole SUV. What's better, it securely straps behind your headrests and has openings for seatbelts so you can still strap your pooch into his car seat. Which, of course, is a necessity for all road trips!

Wow I seriously need that! Not only do I have 3 dogs but I live on the beach. My dogs frequently have sandy paws but I usually just throw an old sheet over the seats and hope for the best lol.
1And if you have small dogs they sell carseats that will not only protect your car, but will boost your doggies so that they can see out the window...My guys love theirs, and it really helped with some carsickness that one of them was having!!
2My dog won't even go in the water. I guess there are pros to that!
3I think it's ok too.
4An easier way to do this is buy some fleece and make one. Kind of like making a tie blanket (if you don't have a sewing machine). We got a tie blanket as a gift that was perfect for the car.
5We got a car seat cover from Lillian Vernon and it works very well! I think the price was around $20.
6They have alot more that are way cheaper and cuter.
