I had a 1st birthday party for my kitty. It
was a very big deal and fittingly extravagant. I only did it once because I figured that's all I could get away with. 
People were very, very nice.
5What a great idea. Pets are rapidly becoming members of the family, so why not celebrate the special moments of their lives as well.
